Ardbeg is a legendary single malt whisky from the island of Islay, known for its heavily peaty, smoky character. The distillery was founded in 1815 and, after a period of decline, rose to prominence again in the 1990s. It uses malt with a high phenolic content (approx. 50 ppm), offering distinctive notes of smoke, iodine, citrus and saltiness, while retaining a balanced fruitiness and elegance.
The core of the portfolio is the Ardbeg 10 Y.O. 10 year old whisky, followed by editions such as Uigeadail and Corryvreckan. The distillery belongs to the LVMH group and has a strong fan community, the Ardbeg Committee, which is involved in the launch of limited editions. Ardbeg is a whisky for those looking for strong character and unmistakable Islay style.
