ACAN, s.r.o. was founded in 1997 with the clear goal of bringing exceptional alcohol from around the world to the Slovak market. From the very beginning we have been guided by a passion for quality and authenticity. We have faced many challenges along the way, but we have never wavered from our vision to offer our customers something more than just "another alcohol on the market".

01 humble beginnings

from beer and tequila to the first distribution of world brands

Our full beginnings in the 1990s were modest. We focused on the distribution of beer, gin and especially tequila - a segment that was still in its infancy in Slovakia. If you are familiar with brands such as Diplomático, Don Papa, Black Death, Desperado, Herradura, El Jimador or the legendary Zacapa, know that it is thanks to our efforts that many of them became known to Slovak alcohol lovers.

02 growth of the company and expansion of the vision

from a small team to a community with a passionate approach

Over time, we have grown not only as a company, but also as a community of people who share a passion for premium spirits and wines. The merger of Acan and the e-shop Alko90.sk in 2019 was a turning point, and kick-started the meteoric growth of the entire company. As an independent Slovak company without any foreign capital participation, we have built a solid position on the market. We expanded our portfolio, established new distribution partnerships and discovered unexplored corners of the alcohol world.

03 our piquero brand

Slovak rum spirit, which conquers the shelves and the hearts of customers

A major milestone in our development was the creation of our own Piquero brand, which we proudly launched on the market and which quickly became a literal hit. Today, it is one of the most popular rum products in Slovakia and is proof that Slovak passion for quality alcohol can compete even with the world's top names.

Today, we stand behind dozens of exclusive brands and hundreds of products that represent the best of the world of rum, whisky, cognacs, gins, wines and champagnes. We work with world-renowned suppliers, including Moët & Hennessy, Maison Ferrand, 1423 World Class Spirits from Denmark and Savio, s.r.l., an Italian company known for its premium rums The Demon's Share and Malecon.
